Image & Design Specs

Last Updated: Sep 14, 2017 02:39PM PDT

In this article, you will find a list of the image/design specifications for all of our app pages. As a general rule, the maximum for all images is typically 810 pixels wide by 1200 pixels tall, but some pages have different limits, as you’ll see below.

Fangate Image (Optional)

The maximum width is 810 pixels, height is 1200 pixels, and file size is 400KB. This is the image that will appear on the tab when users have not yet 'Liked' the page.

We generally recommend using the full 810 pixel width and between 500-800 pixels in height to avoid excessive scrolling with most monitor resolutions.

Entry Page / Landing Page Image

The maximum width is 810 pixels, height is 1200 pixels, and file size is 400KB. This is the image fans will see after they have 'Liked' the page. It will appear above or below the form fields that you have set up.

Generally 810 pixel width works well, with a height between 300 and 650 pixels to avoid too much scrolling.

Post-Entry Page Image

The maximum width is 810 pixels, height is 1200 pixels, and file size is 400KB.

Between 200-800 pixels height works best.

Voucher Page Image - (Coupon, Instant win, Deals and Group deals Apps Only)

The maximum size that will be displayed within the campaign is the same as all other pages, 810 pixels wide and 1200 pixels tall. Between 200-800 pixels height works best for viewing within the browser.

NOTE: The maximum image upload size is larger, however, in order to accomodate the need for high resolution images for printed coupons (e.g., retail coupons that need a scannable barcode); so the Voucher Page Image upload allows a maximum width of 8,000 pixels, height of 24,000 pixels, and file size up to 3MB.

Vote/Gallery Page Image - (Photo,Video, and UGC contests Only)

The maximum width is 810 pixels, height is 1200 pixels, and file size is 400KB.Between 200-400 pixels height generally works best.

Share Image

Updates have been made to Facebook share dialog. Here is what Facebook says about share images in their 'best practices' document:

"Use images that are at least 1200 x 630 pixels for the best display on high resolution devices. At the minimum, you should use images that are 600 x 315 pixels to display link page posts with larger images. Images can be up to 8MB in size.

If your image is smaller than 600 x 315 px, it will still display in the link page post, but the size will be much smaller.

We've also redesigned link page posts so that the aspect ratio for images is the same across desktop and mobile News Feed. Try to keep your images as close to 1.91:1 aspect ratio as possible to display the full image in News Feed without any cropping.

The minimum image size is 200 x 200 pixels. If you try to use an image smaller than this you will see an error in the Sharing Debugger"

The maximum specs for a share image in your Woobox offer are 810px by 1200px with 400KB file size.

Tab Image ( Facebook Tab Installed Contests Only)

Updated as of February 2017: Facebook has officially removed the "apps box" and no uploaded image will appear on your Facebook Business Page. We will update the dashboard soon to remove the ability to upload an image due to the Facebook change.

Quiz Questions and Answers

Questions: Max: 355px wide, 1200px tall, 400kb
Answers: Recommended: 348px wide, 284px tall (Max: 810px wide, 1200px tall, 400kb)

Getting Around these Limits

While 810 pixels is the maximum width of the Facebook display, what if you want an image wider than that? Or taller than 1200 pixels, or larger than 400KB?

The solution is simple. First, you need to upload the image to an image-hosting website. Then, simply change the page type from Image to HTML, and use a short bit of code to display your image:

imagespecs

<img src="//yourwebsite.com/yourimage.jpg" alt="Image Description" width="100%">

You will want to put the "Direct Link" inside the quotation marks. Specifically you should ensure that it ends with JPG, PNG, GIF, or other file format instead of HTML so it will display properly.
